I work out almost every day. Someone reading this might say this is a little too much, but this is my daily therapy to deal with chronic pain. When I was living like a hermit, I bought P90X, Beast Body, Hip Hop Abs DVDs, KettleWorx kettlebells and DVDs and the Zumba DVDs. I had good days and bad days because of the opioid drugs and my chronic pain, but those workout programs were and still are excellent companions.I am posting videos of fitness programs and enthusiasts that offer free and premium fitness routines to help anyone jump-start his or her fitness journey. I don’t earn any money to recommend these programs but I have benefited from them because they provide useful information. So I am not endorsing them but suggesting that these programs could motivate someone to get started and stay committed. Many of the fitness centers offer group activities such as Pilates, Yoga, Spinning, Strength training, Zumba and more. I attend Zumba sessions for my cardio activities because I love to dance. I have met so many interesting people and formed so many new friendships that I find very inspirational. If you are not sure about where to begin your fitness program, group activities at one of the local fitness centers is an alternative. Gym memberships are an excellent investment especially for your most valuable body.
Consistency and accountability are the rules I set for myself so I can achieve my fitness goals. My motto is “study and love your body, because you only get one”. Every day my mantra upon opening my eyes is “remember your purpose, set your daily intentions and achieve your goals”. Give yourself and your family the best of you. I have several fitness applications on my phone that help me form my work out routines. The main application I use is JEFIT. It allows me to formulate my daily routines on my desktop computer or laptop then sync them to my mobile phone. This application lets me set my daily and weekly goals while keeping me accountable to finish my gym routine. The Corona virus has made me make adjustments to my daily work out routine. I start my workout sequence with the following:
- Tai Chi forms
- Karate kata/forms
- Kettlebells
- Calisthenics – Push Ups & Pull Ups
- Running
- Zumba
I really miss the interaction with my fellow exercise enthusiasts. My friends at Lifetime fitness, L.A. Fitness, Monon Community Center and Adamson’s Karate. I miss my shower, whirlpool soak, sauna and cold shower routine because it was so so relaxing.
