Today I decided to work on what I consider to be part of my senior citizen fitness program. I am not sure when I will be entering the golden years of my life when I decide that have to ramp down my exercise activities. I like Karate because the kata forms we practice are helping me get in touch with my body through directed movement. I lead a pretty active life but I know I will need to prepare for the time when my body will tell me to slow down. Today I broke out the Tai Chi instructional DVD because I know that I need some calming movement after dancing Zumba and performing the rigorous kata forms. After practicing Tai Chi this morning, exercising my legs with kettlebells and then I hit the Monon Trail where I ran 6 miles. I feel so energized and encouraged.
